A special rules system for DND... a battle without magic! Danger threatens the very nature of the realm as a strange Zone in the mountains consumies magic itself. With spellcasting nearly useless and the woods swarming with magic-resistant horrors, the call is made for a team of hardened warriors able to attack with blades and brawn. ‘By Blade or Blood’ is a heroic twist on classic D&D where aggressive magical elements are too lethal to use. With only Paladins capable of harnessing Celestial magic powers inside the zone, the heroes who could face otherworldly forces are limited. No wizards, warlocks, druids, or clerics. No spellcasting except healing. The only thing that will win the day is steel and sharp wits! Build a Level 12 Character and try to bring magic back to the world! Not a Persistent World. Instead, you must build a Level 12 character from the ground up, according to the set of custom guidelines provided below. Characters used in these sessions do not progress or gain gold. When signing up to a Level 20 game, you can create a completely different character each time, or re-play a character that you have previously created for this event. NO Magic except: Paladins can use their magic IF the main class is 5 higher than the next Spellcasting will not work in the zone EXCEPT for touch-based. Magic weapons work. Any healing magic is at half effectiveness. Familiars, summoned creatures, etc., will not survive in the Zone. ...the enemies DO have magic though...watch out! Character creation guidelines: 27 Point Buy; no Rolled Stats. Item Allocation: 1 Legendary, 2 Very Rare, 3 Rare, 4 Uncommon or Common. You may trade down items in tier rarity at a 1:1 ratio. 2x bonus Superior Healing Potions. 5,000 gp for all mundane purchases and spell component costs (no magic items bought with gold). Banned Items: All Consumables other than Healing Potions (e.g. other potions, spell scrolls, etc). Must follow all other TorontoDND Allowable Character Options for Species, Subclass, Feats, Backgrounds, Spells, Magic Items, etc. The concept it to simply put the rough and tough against evil magic and use wits and teamwork to overcome. Very flexible with what characters can bring along so feel free to ask and send ideas.

    Dungeons & Dragons 5.5 Edition

    https://dnd.wizards.com/start-playing-dnd

    Description:

The first Dungeons & Dragons game was played back when Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson chose to personalize the massive battles of their fantasy wargames with the exploits of individual heroes. This inspiration became the first fantasy roleplaying game, in which players are characters in an ongoing fantasy story. This new kind of game has become immensely popular over the years, and D&D has grown to include many new ways to vividly experience worlds of heroic fantasy. The core of D&D is storytelling. You and your friends may tell a story together, guiding your heroes through quests for treasure, battles with deadly foes, daring rescues, courtly intrigue, and much more. You can also explore the many worlds of D&D through any of the hundreds of novels written by today's hottest fantasy authors, as well as engaging board games and immersive video games. All of these stories are part of D&D.
