TorontoDnD Storylines

Epic Adventures, Your Schedule.

Format Overview

Storylines at TorontoDND are designed to provide a campaign like experience, but without the hassle of coordinating the schedules of multiple busy people. Each session you play in will be a self-contained one-shot that exists inside an over-arching story. Each adventure will have some common elements that help create a shared narrative, even though you may be playing with a completely different GM and different players.

Storylines are broken up into acts. Each adventure within an act will start and end with the same events, and each act will lead into each the next one to tell a larger story. After the final act we will host an epic finale event to close the storyline, and maybe start the next one…

Getting Started

In order to play in these events you will need to register a character with us. You can find instruction on how to do that here, and our allowable character options here. If you already have one or more registered characters in our Persistent World system you are good to go!

After that you can sign up for any event in our the current storyline from our events page. Storyline events will all start with the word “Storyline” in the event title.

Caveats

While many of the GMs and admins are coordinating behind the scenes to make the world as cohesive as possible, you can expect some rough edges between GMs, player groups and sessions in general. An NPC might sound different from one table to the next, there may be some plot inconsistencies that need to be ret-conned, places might be described a bit differently etc. Please understand that some of these issues are going to arise due to the nature of the format. As a participant it is your job to be understanding and hand-wave those things away. Please don’t derail a game due to some minor differences.
